Too Old for Fairy Tales (2022)
“Too Old for Fairy Tales” is a 2022 Polish coming-of-age comedy directed by Kristoffer Rus. The film follows Waldek, a 10-year-old boy immersed in video games, whose life is upended when his eccentric Aunt Mariola steps in to care for him during his mother’s absence. Through her unconventional methods, Waldek learns valuable life lessons, balancing his passion for gaming with real-world responsibilities. The movie stars Maciej Karaś as Waldek, Dorota Kolak as Aunt Mariola, and Karolina Gruszka as his mother, Teresa. Released in Poland on March 18, 2022, it became available on Netflix internationally on July 18, 2022. A sequel, “Too Old for Fairy Tales 2,” premiered in Polish cinemas on March 15, 2024.
