Escape from New York (1981)
In a dystopian future, Manhattan Island is turned into a maximum-security prison, home to the most dangerous criminals. The U.S. government has imprisoned its most notorious criminals, turning the area into a walled-off zone. When Air Force One crashes into the prison, former soldier and convict Snake Plissken (played by Kurt Russell) is sent on a mission to rescue the President of the United States. If successful, Snake is promised his freedom. However, with time running out and the city’s anarchic inhabitants out to get him, Snake must use his skills to survive and escape.
