Austenland (2013)
“Austenland” (2013) is a romantic comedy based on the novel by Shannon Hale. The story follows Jane Hayes, a single woman obsessed with Jane Austen’s novels, especially Pride and Prejudice. She spends her savings on a trip to an immersive Austen-themed vacation experience in England. There, she encounters a group of people who live out the Regency era, and Jane becomes entangled in a love triangle involving the charming, mysterious Mr. Nobley. As Jane navigates the romantic fantasy, she must reconcile her idealized view of love with reality, ultimately discovering what true romance means in her life.
