In Bruce Almighty, Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) is a discontented TV reporter who blames God for his troubles. After losing his job and experiencing personal setbacks, Bruce angrily challenges God (Morgan Freeman) to prove that He can do a better job. God, in response, gives Bruce His powers, and Bruce experiences firsthand the difficulties of running the universe. Initially using his newfound abilities for selfish reasons, Bruce soon learns the importance of responsibility, kindness, and humility.
