High School Musical (2006)
High School Musical (2006) is a Disney Channel movie about Troy Bolton, a popular basketball player, and Gabriella Montez, a shy, talented singer, who defy social expectations. During winter break, they meet at a karaoke contest and discover a mutual love for singing. Back at school, they try out for the lead roles in the school musical, causing tension with their cliques. As Troy and Gabriella work together, they show their schoolmates the importance of following one’s passion over social pressure. Ultimately, they win the musical’s leads and prove that friendship and love conquer all.
